Short bio: Vasl (Urdu: meeting point) is a registered non-profit platform for contemporary art in Pakistan committed to creating a progressive space for artistic experimentation and exchange. From an office based in Karachi, Vasl is run by a dedicated team of staff, a Board of Trustees and an Advisory Board. Vasl is part of the Triangle Network and since 2001 we have hosted numerous artists’ workshops, artists' residencies and public projects of significance in Pakistan, thereby forging a new experience of making, understanding and viewing contemporary art in Pakistan. Vasl is one of the only non-profit arts organisations in Pakistan dedicated to developing new modes of creative education while advocating the efficacy of art for education and social change. We passionately believe that art, culture and creative entrepreneurship can catalyse economic vitality and inclusive democratic societies. Vasl artists and coordinators regularly contribute to international meetings and conferences and we firmly advocate the diplomatic potential of international artistic programmes.

In 2013 Vasl collaborates with Creativity, Culture & Education, IKON Gallery in Birmingham and British Council Pakistan on bringing the 'Artists in Creative Education' project to Pakistan.
