Event Description

On Monday, December 9th, professor Lois Hetland from USA will give a lecture in Brussels. After the lecture a practical workshop organized by Vitamine C will be held.

Lois Hetland (USA) is Professor and Chair of the Art Education Department at the Massachusetts College of Art and Design and Senior Research Affiliate at Project Zero at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. Prof. Hetland will discuss several issues concerning arts, culture and education: the core benefits of visual art education; the centrality of making for the goal of educating students in the arts; conditions for quality arts education, the tension between visual arts and cultural education; key challenges that arts education must address and ho Studio Thinking might help.

The academic lecture will be followed by a workshop providing an opportunity to discuss the issues brought up during the lecture from a practise-based perspective.
